A LETTER TO LIFE, MY DEAREST FRIEND
When my mother gave you to me,
I couldn’t help but cry.
For the first time I could see,
Why many men would wish they had wings to fly.
Unsurprisingly, the first thing the doctor gave to me was a slap,
Which according to him, was to ensure you were in me
But what was surprising was that as I cried, I heard the midwives clap
How can they find joy in misery? I asked myself in mystery
But as I grew older, I began to understand
That there was more to you than meets the eye
And though much are the mysteries in your hand,
You still in some conditions, make me sigh
Life is Short, is this what life has to offer?
I often hear people say,
But I realize that the most I can do is to try not to suffer
loving every moment of what you’ve given me today
Oh life, I can’t believe I still love you despite all I’ve seen,
I can’t just stand the fear and horror of loosing you;
The past, the future and what ever lies between,
Is something I most learn to accept while am in the queue
Finally, I think I ought to tell you,
That the difference between those who find happiness in you and those who don’t
Are not those who you’ve given everything?
But those who make the most out of everything you’ve given them
Oh life, I am so much in love with you,
That I can’t stand the thought of loosing you
Try and teach me not to waste my days with you
So that in the after life I can still be with you.

A poem about love
LOVE
Love is the four letter word
That is spoken around the world
It is expressed in different ways
But to every heart, touches always
It could be between a husband and a wife
That pledge to be together for life
And it could be between two young lovers
Trying to find the warmth that love covers
Though simple it looks
You will never know till you’re in his hooks
Slowly, it finds its way into your heart
Till you become blind as a bat
It’s the word that captivates your mind
Making you willing to leave all behind
It’s the four letter word that revolves the world
It’s the word that can devastate like a flood
Love is the four letter word
That is spoken around the world
It is expressed in different ways
But to every heart, touches always
It could be between a husband and a wife
That pledge to be together for life
And it could be between two young lovers
Trying to find the warmth that love covers
Though simple it looks
You will never know till you’re in his hooks
Slowly, it finds its way into your heart
Till you become blind as a bat
It’s the word that captivates your mind
Making you willing to leave all behind
It’s the four letter word that revolves the world
It’s the word that can devastate like a flood
A poem about Time
Time
Time is very fast
Yet it appears to be very slow
The movement of the hour hand makes it even harder to notice
We continue to hear the second hand of the clock ticking
And sometimes hopes it could tick even faster
But as water vanishes in flames
So does every tick of that hand tick never to tick again
The nature of our unending struggles
Have made us oblivious to how swift the day goes by
Can you pause and think for a second
Think of how close yesterday is
Yet you cannot recall most events of yesterday
It is the magic of time
That makes the baby of yesterday soon becomes a father tomorrow
Hence there is just one thing that we can hope for;
And that is to make an impact before we meet our end
For many at times we think there is really more time
Only to regret that we should have made the time we had
Now is the time
Let’s make haste while the sun shines
